maskwa represents strength, resilience, and the unshakable spirit that lives within us. I created this piece as a symbol of endurance—of standing tall no matter what. In cree teachings, maskwa is a protector, a guide, and a reminder that true strength isn’t just about power—it’s about wisdom, courage, and knowing when to fight and when to rest.

 

I donated this artwork back to my community (NCN) hoping that it could serve as a source of inspiration. My hope is that when people see it, they feel that strength within themselves—that reminder that no matter what they’re facing, they too can stand strong.
